Beyond the savings, you keep full access to new releases, HD or Full HD quality depending on the plan, and the ability to watch on multiple devices. It’s the most convenient way to enjoy Viki’s entire catalog without the monthly fee becoming an unnecessary fixed expense.

What is Viki Rakuten?

It’s a platform that breaks language and geographic barriers to and productions from across Asia to the whole world.

Viki Rakuten was born in 2007 as an innovative student project from Harvard and Stanford, founded by Razmig Hovaghimian, Changseong Ho and Jiwon Moon. Its name merges “video” + “wiki”, because from the start it relied on a global community of volunteers who collaborate to translate subtitles simultaneously.

Today, it’s a passionate community that democratizes content, having translated over one billion words into more than 200 languages (including over 50 endangered languages). This drives engagement up to four times higher than other platforms.

If you’re a K-Drama fan, buying a Viki subscription is what you were looking for

Check out these figures that make the platform irresistible: around 70 to 95 million registered users across more than 190 countries. Plus, it has a premium catalog with over 1,500 titles (Asian series and films).

Millions of monthly fans turn Viki into the heart of Asian entertainment. And, in case you didn’t know, it was acquired by Rakuten in 2013, which boosted its massive growth while keeping its community essence. It’s your gateway to Korea, China, Japan and all of Asia with a single click. Pair it with Netflix and HBO Max, and you won’t want to leave your seat for days.

With CuentasGO shared subscriptions you get access to K-dramas that are global phenomena, Asian series you won’t find elsewhere, and exclusive content only true fans appreciate. All with Spanish subtitles, premieres that arrive hours after their Asia broadcast and a catalog so wide you’ll always have something new to discover.

Advantages of buying a Rakuten Viki subscription

As we’ve mentioned, this isn’t just another platform filled with content for the sake of it, so when you buy your cheap Viki account you get these benefits:

• Community-created subtitles: translations are made by real fans who know the cultural context, wordplay and references that often get lost in automatic or professional subtitles on other platforms. The result feels more natural and relatable.
• Asian premieres: series and films arrive just hours after their original broadcast in Korea, China or Japan. You can follow episodes almost in real time without waiting weeks or months for them to appear elsewhere.
• Exclusive content: beyond the general catalog, Viki offers originals and titles not available on Netflix, Prime Video or most major streaming services. It’s material you only find here.
• HD quality: enjoy dramas with good clarity and stable image. Depending on the plan, you can watch in HD (720p) or Full HD (1080p), which is noticeable on large screens.

And with Viki Pass, forget interruptions—just you, your series and the next episode accompanying your viewing without breaks.

Everything you can find in Viki’s catalog

This is part of what you can find in Viki’s catalog, although one of its strengths is that new content is constantly added to the lineup, similar to how Atresplayer Premium does:

The most popular K-Dramas are on Rakuten Viki

Think you’ve seen all the best titles? Think again. The shows that are trending, the ones everyone talks about, the viral hits… many of them are only available here.

We’re talking about Lovely Runner, the 2024 phenomenon that won hearts with its time-travel story and impossible romance, and about Love Scout, chosen by Viki’s team as the most memorable drama of 2025. You can also watch "My Dearest Nemesis" and "Study Group", which keep coming up in fan conversations.

And that’s just the beginning. The platform also features "The First Night with the Duke", "Law and The City" with Lee Jong Suk, "Dear X" with the incredible Kim You Jung... titles that simply don’t exist on other services. Those who know K-dramas know Viki is the place, and at CuentasGo you have guaranteed access to all this content, with low prices and reliable accounts.

Is Rakuten Viki free?: pricing of plans

Yes, Rakuten Viki has a free version, but it includes ads and several limitations. You can’t access the full catalog, there are waits for new episodes and video quality is lower.

It’s useful to try the platform or watch occasionally, but it doesn’t offer the full experience. If you want ad-free viewing, better quality and full access, you need a paid plan.

The app has two main options: the Standard plan, which typically costs around $4.99 to $7.99 USD per month (or about $49.99 per year), and includes ad-free streaming in HD and access to most of the catalog.

The Plus plan, priced approximately $9.99 to $11.99 USD monthly (or around $99.99 per year), adds higher image quality (up to 1080p), offline downloads and the ability to watch on more devices simultaneously.

Exact prices may vary by country, the store you subscribe through and active promotions. It’s best to check the current price directly on Viki’s website or app before subscribing.

How purchase and delivery works on CuentasGO

We know the most stressful part when buying a shared account isn’t the payment, but what comes after: will the credentials arrive on time? Will it actually work? If something goes wrong, who do I talk to?

That’s why we explain exactly what you receive, how long it takes, what you can and can’t do with each type of account and, above all, how to file a claim without wasting time or money if something goes wrong.

1. Choose the account type that fits your use: before paying, decide whether you’ll watch Viki only on your TV or also on mobile and tablet. Check the product description carefully because price and warranty duration vary depending on this choice.
2. Make the payment and find the access panel or confirmation email: once payment is completed, the system generates an order and sends the credentials to your email or to a private panel inside the site, depending on the method CuentasGO uses at that time.
3. Wait for the credentials: delivery is usually automatic, with an estimated time of 1 to 5 minutes, though during peak hours it can take up to 15 minutes due to system load. Don’t worry if it’s not instant; check your spam folder and if after 10 minutes there’s no news, contact support with the order number to speed things up.
4. Access and verify the account status: upon receiving the details, log into Viki without changing anything yet. First play an episode for at least 30 seconds to check the account has an active subscription and that no block or suspension message appears.

Keep the confirmation email or a screenshot of the access panel, because it shows the order number and purchase date—two essential details for any claim.
